Join Anna Hazare's Fast To Bring the Jan Lokpal Bill

Anna Hazare will commence a fast unto death from April 5 2011 in support of the Jan Lokpal Bill. You can join the fight against corruption! Join Anna, and fast with him for a day, or as long as you can. Click here to see your city

Our Anti corruption system needs a change

Why is it that no one goes to jail in our country despite indulging in corruption? This is because we have completely rotten anti-corruption laws and anti-corruption agencies that it is almost impossible for the corrupt to be penalized.
Jan Lokpal Bill is the solution

Justice Santosh Hegde (former Supreme Court Judge and present Lokayukta of Karnataka), Prashant Bhushan (Supreme Court Lawyer) and Arvind Kejriwal (activist) have together drafted a strong anti-corruption law called Jan Lokpal Bill which requires that investigations into any case should be completed within a year and the trial should get over in the next one year so that a corrupt person goes to jail within two years of complaint and his ill gotten wealth is confiscated.

A letter to the Prime Minister

Mr. Chief Public Servant,
Manmohan Singh

We have suffered enough due to corruption. We are deeply hurt and disappointed with any lack of a real and meaningful solution from you and your government.

We want change, and we want accountability and we cannot wait any longer to have this! We will not vote for you if an effective anti-corruption bill is not enacted. Not the farce Lokpal Bill proposed by your government, but the peoples “Jan Lokpal Bill”. We want strict and effective punishment for the corrupt. They MUST go to jail! Or you Mr. PM, along with your party, will fall from the people’s grace. We assure you, stand by us, and we will stand by you. The opposite will also hold true.

Your government has appointed a GoM to draft the Lokpal Bill. This GoM includes -
Sharad Pawar,Veerapa Moily and Kapil Sibal. Mr. Pawar and Mr. Moily have a past of corruption and mis-deeds that the entire country if aware of. Mr. Sibal does not feel there was corruption in the 2G scam. Having these people draft the anti-corruption law – is it not an insult to the people of India? How can the corrupt be asked to draft an anti-corruption bill? We urge you to consider the choice put forth by the people – credible names such as Justice Santosh Hegde, Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bushan and others, to be part of the committee to draft the Lokpal Bill.

Shri Anna Hazare, one of the Greatest Social Reformers India has ever seen has announced a Fast Unto Death beginning April 5th. His demands are extremely beneficial for the future of India. We urge you to immediately accept the demands of the people of India represented by the demands of Shri Anna Hazare lest the discontent among the people grows out of control.

The sentiments against rampant corruption in this country are quickly becoming as strong as those that led to the uprising in Tahrir Square. The honest and hardworking people of this country refuse to be innocent bystanders in the wholesale public looting that is taking place as you read this letter. We request your immediate and strong response to this concern of the people as corruption should be the top priority of your government. If the challenge is not met effectively and promptly, it has the potential of undermining every valuable effort made by upright citizens of this country over the last century - including you. It also has the potential of leaving your government with a legacy of shame.

Tahrir square can yet be a reality in India.

We trust you will take immediate steps to give us our solution, and not force us to take the above steps!

Citizen of India

Don't say Bihar is a good place for investment .The various departments of the government in Bihar and particularly the Mighty Agriculture Department is one such safe haven where theft by pulic servants and the minsters can never be detected ,there is no fear of any public scrutiny also.So organised methodology is practised that in a recently purchased DHAICHA SEEDS for green manuring of soils in Bihar Rs. 25 crores have been extracted by the Minister of Agriculture,Narendra Singh and his cohorts in the Agriculture department machinery .In the name of subsidy over micro-nutrients ferrous sulphate is being supplied in place of zinc sulphate , the former's cost being Rs.4 /- a kg and the later is priced at Rs. 40/- a kg . The availability of best quality zinc-sulphate in the market is at only Rs. 25/- to 30/- a kg. .There is 90 % subsidy over this nutrient .Just imagine the way subsidy is being eaten away by the big-wigs in the department.

In the area of farm-mechanization sponsored by the government ,same dynamics and mechanism is followed.Right from the level of District Agriculture Officers to the level of the minister ,are earning leaps and bounds .But at the cost of the farmers' fate .

This is the existing dynamics of state sponsored corruption in Bihar .
So, my dear Sir , you come to Bihar without any thing in your pocket ,only learn the tricks to cheat the population ,may be under the aegis of the ministers , you will reap. But if you bring investment here , after such investment ,you loose the ownership of your money ,these public servants right from the level of chaprasi to Principle Secretary of the departments, they beome your owner .In Bihar any pro-industry announcement is a farce and pure rhetoric of the CM,Nitish Kumar.
